The community map: how people answer where you grew up
After the accent quiz you pin where you grew up, and that pin joins a worldwide map of everyone else who has answered. The map is both a record of individual submissions and a coloured layer showing how people in each region actually speak.
Your pin versus the coloured layer
Your hometown places an exact pin on the map. For the regional colouring, responses are aggregated into H3 hexagonal cells at resolution 4, which is roughly metropolitan scale.
A cell is only coloured once at least five people there have answered, so the map shows patterns rather than individuals.
What the colours mean
Each survey question can be shown as a map layer showing which answer dominates in each cell. Tap a question and the map shades regions by whether people there say pop, soda, trainers, sneakers, and so on.
That makes the map a live picture of dialect geography built from real submissions, not from the reference profiles alone.
Browsing submissions
The map surface also lists community submissions. You can open a pin to see how someone answered and which accent profiles they matched. Submissions are pseudonymous: a town and an answer pattern, not a name.
The dedicated map page at /map is the full-screen view. The home page embeds the same quiz and result flow inline.
Privacy and scale
Aggregation prevents any single person from being readable off the coloured layer. Individual pins are only visible when you deliberately open a submission. The map wraps horizontally and uses OpenFreeMap vector tiles with English and Latin-script place labels.
