The daily puzzle: one board, everybody, once a day

The daily puzzle is the shared scoreboard mode. Five real speakers, five pins, one date. When you send your result to a friend, you know you played the same board.

Why a dated puzzle

Unlimited Classic rounds are good practice, but a score means more when everyone faced the same clues. The daily puzzle picks five respondents from the community pool. When the pool is thin in a territory, it draws from researched profiles instead. Those five speakers stay fixed for twenty-four hours.

The URL includes the date, so a link from yesterday still opens yesterday's board. For a bio or pinned post, use /play, which always redirects to today.

Scoring and streaks

Each round scores how closely your pin lands to the speaker's hometown, using the same answer-pattern similarity model as Classic rather than raw distance alone.

Finish all five and the puzzle records your streak, your best streak, and how you did against the speakers you missed. An optional email reminder can nudge you when a new board is live. No account is required to play.

After you finish

The results screen shows where you pinned versus where each speaker grew up, which answers were most informative, and a share line you can copy. Comparison links under /r/ are personal results and stay out of search indexes on purpose.

If you want more after the daily board, Classic mode and Detective are unlimited.
